Carrickmacross Bridge Club

This club was formed in the autumn of 1969. Membership was at its zenith in the 1980’s with sixteen tables being occupied at the weekly competitions.  Thereafter, contemporary lifestyle brought about a gradual decrease in numbers.

Notwithstanding that, the dynamic within the bridge club remains vigorous and for many, Thursday night is still the best night on the week. Plans are in hand already to celebrate 40 years in existence and it is fitting that Joan Connolly, whose mother, Nora Callan was a founding member of the club is at the helm of these preparations.

Meeting are held on Thursday evening each week in the Castleross Nursing & Convalescent Centre with play commencing at 7.30pm. Beginners introductory classes are ongoing and a warm welcome awaits new members.
