Daffodil Day We will be selling Daffodils in Carrickmacross on 25th Mar from 9am-6pm & as usual we would love if you could spare 1 hour to help out.  If you can please drop your name & time into Bits ‘n’ Bobs.  The Cancer Society really appreciate all the help we get each year.  We have in the region of €7000 worth of pins & daffodils to sell, so the more help we can get the better.

On St. Patrick’s night the Pioneer Council will host a Fíor-Chéilí in the Phoenix Centre from 8.30–11.30 pm.  Adm €7. Music by Michael Duffy Céilí Band.  A supper provided.  Families welcome.

Local Scouts Showcase their skills on St. Patrick’s Day The local Scout Group who take a real active part in the youth community are putting on a big display.  A parade of all Beavers, Cubs, Scouts & Ventures to St. Joseph’s Church for Mass will start the day.  The group will take part in all aspects of the Mass, readings, offertory procession, collecting etc, organised by Fr. Jordan our Scout Spiritual Director.  After Mass the fun will start with the group putting up a full scout campsite with tents, pioneering projects & various displays including rope bridges. There will be a full programme of events for all the youth members.  These various events will be run by older youth members for the younger members in the through spirit of youth participation. This display & all the events will take place after Mass on the Church lawn. The group invite all members of the public to come along & see what type of events scouts get up to.

An Lochrann Linn Band News Following an invitation from the London St Patrick’s Day Festival, An Lochrann Linn Band is heading to London for the parade on Sun 14th Mar. Band members & their families are travelling on Fri 12th Mar for a very busy weekend. The band has been practicing hard and is committed to putting on an excellent show as representatives of Carrickmacross in London. We wish them all the best on their travels. An Lochrann Linn will be returning on Mon 15th Mar, in time to march in the St. Patrick’s day parades in Kingscourt & Carrickmacross on Wed 17th Mar.
